2025 Interior Design Trends
Warm Earth Tones & Rich Colors
2025 is going to be the year of bringing primary colors back into our homes.
Designers are embracing warm, earthy palettes, with colors like wine red gaining popularity. We’ve seen the motion slowly take place over the last couple of months as we move away from all white & neutral interiors and transition into slightly spaces with splashes of color.
Sensorial Design
On the theme of sensorial design, it’s not just tactile elements that can appeal to our sensory-seeking needs.
Having a seamless connection between indoor and outdoor spaces can be just as grounding, with our gardens activating touch, sound and smell.
If you have an open-plan kitchen or dining area that opens out into the outdoors, make the most of it with organic materials, such as wood. Italian porcelain tiles are also an ideal option for continuous indoor/outdoor flooring, giving you two spaces that harmonize as one.
Walls can get a quick makeover, too, with a wood slat effect mural, giving you a more affordable way to achieve high-end interiors that are timeless and on-trend for 2025.
Seamless Technology
The seamless integration of technology into home design is becoming standard. Yes, technology is going to further integrate itself into our lives to enhance convenience. So, features like hidden speakers, wireless charging furniture, and smart lighting systems enhance functionality while maintaining aesthetic appeal.
Workstation Sinks
As we move towards creating more intentional and functional spaces; workstation sinks have additional features built into the sink to make your washing up and overall cooking experience the best it can be. These workspaces usually offer multi-purpose areas like a draining rack or chopping board for example which really maximizes the space in your kitchen. Perfect for smaller scaled designs.
These things come in a wide range of finishes and functionality and are definitely a trend I will be hopping on in 2025.
Rounded Lines
There is no doubt that rounded lines are having a moment in the design world.
This focuses on incorporating curves in furniture, architecture and decor to create softer, more inviting spaces.
This trend enhances comfort and flow, with elements like curved sofas, arched doorways, and circular windows offering a modern yet timeless appeal. Paired with soft materials, rounded design promote relaxation and add a touch of elegance to various interior styles.
Bold Accents
The trend of incorporating texture into walls and ceilings is on the rise.
We’ll see a return of decorative finishes on walls, textured designs and thoughtful details like wood paneling which add depth and warmth to interiors, creating a cozy and inviting atmosphere. We’ll even see more consideration for ceilings, particularly in large spaces where a ceiling accent will be beneficial to adding interest and intrigue.
Adding either a colored, patterned or textured accent to ceilings also open up a whole world of opportunities, with so many different ways you can pull off this trend. It’s a maximalist’s dream, but it can work just as well in a minimalist space as long as you keep the walls clean and simple.
