This furniture package was the much-needed upgrade for this couple who bought the condo for retirement get-a-ways. It was only right we brought some Caribbean warmth and flare in with natural textures and warm colors and tones to help set the mood of this tropical escape.

I loved designing around the clients’ personal photos and artwork, they became an integral part of the inspiration regarding color palette and textures. For example, the black and white photos stood out so beautifully against the grey slat wall and the custom designed rattan headboard brought out another traditional Bajan element as seen in the photos.

Although the goal was to make the unit more comfortable and aesthetically pleasing, I also wanted to make certain things more functional and this is where creating a tiled backsplash in the kitchen, introducing pivoting bedside wall sconces for reading and a designing a custom coffee table for storage purposes came into play.
